Quick geography lesson I learned today: According to Google, Kansas is 200 miles away from Kansas City. Thanks!

Metropolitan Division 1/4 Semifinals – Game 3: Pittsburgh Penguins at Columbus Blue Jackets – 7:00pm
(Series Tied 1-1)

Television: NBCSN, CBC, RDS2, ROOT, FS-O

Columbus – The Cannon
Pittsburgh – Pensburgh

The Matchup

The Blue Jackets finally won a playoff game this weekend and evened their series with the Penguins. Pittsburgh had two different two-goal leads, but couldn’t hold off the annoying Blue Jackets (seriously, these guys are harder to kill than cockroaches). Finally, Matt Calvert ended the game in OT. Now the series crosses the border into Ohio where the Jackets will have last change and (presumably) more fans in the stands. I love this series for the schadenfreude.

Central Division 1/4 Semifinals – Game 3: Colorado Avalanche at Minnesota Wild – 7:00pm
(Colorado Leads 2-0)

Television: NHLN-US, TSN, RDS, FS-N, ALT

SB Nation Blogs

Minnesota – Hockey Wilderness
Colorado – Mile High Hockey

The Matchup

Nathan MacKinnon and Paul Stastny are tearing up this series and the Wild have no answer for them right now. With Yeo having the matchups, it’ll be interesting to see what he’ll try differently at the XCel Energy center. The longer the playoffs go, the more I think that the winner of this series actually has a chance in round two; I’m not sure anybody’s going to be alive once St. Louis and Chicago are finished with each other.

Central 2/3 Semifinals – Game 3 St. Louis Blues at Chicago Blackhawks – 8:30pm
(St. Louis Leads 2-0)

Television: CNBC, CBC, RDSI, FS-MW, CSN-CH

SB Nation Blogs

Chicago – Second City Hockey
St. Louis – St. Louis Game Time

The Matchup

Two overtime games in St. Louis gave the Blues a 2-0 series edge heading back into Chi-town. The Hawks will be without Brent Seabrook after he tried to kill David Backes with a dirty headshot that actually made me cheer for the Blues. Stories of some dickhead Hawks fan yelling “wakey-wakey” at Backes makes it even worse. How fucking despicable do you have to be as an organization to make the Blues the good guys? Fuck you, Blackhawks.

Pacific Division 1/4 Semifinals – Game 3: Anaheim Ducks at Dallas Stars– 9:30pm
(Anaheim Leads 2-0)

Television: NBCSN, TSN, RDS, KDOC, TXA 21

SB Nation Blogs

Dallas – Defending Big D
Anaheim – Anaheim Calling, Battle of California

The Matchup

If Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry are going to be this good, the Stars don’t stand a chance. Now that the series is in Dallas, the home team will need to find a way to slow down the Ducks’ attack while generating better offense of their own. Of the play I’ve seen from Dallas so far in this series, their defensemen have to make way better decisions with the puck in both zones otherwise this is going to be a short series.
