As the Red Wings went, so did Ville Husso… or possibly vice versa. I lean towards the former: Husso was at his best during the most competitive points of the Red Wings schedule, providing sturdy goaltending, stealing a game outright on occasion and rarely being the sole reason the team lost. He didn’t put together extended runs where he looked unbeatable, but he rebounded from tough nights with solid performances, for the most part. After a brief spike in February, the Red Wings sold at the trade deadline and endured mounting injuries to close out the year, which proved to be Husso’s worst months, both statistically and to the eye test.
