32 Thoughts: The Podcast

Hockey fans already know the name, but this is not the blog. From Sportsnet, 32 Thoughts: The Podcast with Jeff Marek and NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman is a weekly deep dive into the biggest news and interviews from the hockey world.

While the Wings themselves aren’t talked about in this edition of 32 Thoughts, Marek and Friedman did talk to Tim Stutzlë while in Stockholm. Of course, Alex DeBrincat came up. A few places are trying to make this sound like some parting shot at DeBrincat, but I’m not sure it was. Listen for yourself.

Either way, it sounds like DeBrincat made it perfectly clear he was not happy in Ottawa despite off-ice efforts by his teammates. According to Bruce Garrioch, DeBrincat was unhappy playing on the 2nd line. If that’s true AND was the cause of DeBrincat wanting out of Ottawa, I both like and dislike that. We’ll see how he handles the next 4 seasons.
