Tomas Holmström was an absolute menace to opposing goalies. I remember watching Homer and marveling at his ability to consistently bring his stick down on top of a moving puck and to do so gently enough to just change its direction instead of impeding it and stopping it dead. He used to stuff the back of his socks with foam blocks to protect his legs while net-front, all so he could help the team. For anybody who never got the privilege of watching him live, go look up some highlights.

I’m all for this – mostly because I think there’s a more than reasonable chance that he both doesn’t really help their team AND his addition forces them to move someone out that they’ll regret losing. Go for it, Treliving/Shanahan/MLSE or whoever is actually running that team.
