If Dan Cleary is going to be on this roster, I want him to be a productive player. Against the Rangers, he was productive. We’ll see if he remains in the lineup going forward, but, if he helps the Wings win, then his roster spot is justified.

As long as the advertisements are not as omnipresent as they are on SHL jerseys, then I am fine with whatever the NHL chooses to implement. If they do it like European football clubs, that is fine with me (I agree, United’s Chevy logo is imposing, but most other jerseys are fine). Jersey sponsorship is inevitable, and if Bettman truly wants to turn the NHL into a successful money-making league, then this is the obvious next step for him.

Goaltenders are harder to value than other players, and are easily overpaid. I would pay Henrik Lundqvist $9 million per season any day of the week, but, I cannot say the same for Fleury, or any other goaltender in the NHL, for that matter.

The NHL is going to wait until they are near certain that Voynov either did not commit an offense, or that the offense he committed was not severe before reinstating him. This is clearly a move to avoid the Ray Rice situation the NFL has had to deal with.
