Passion, patience keys to Wings’ success: Holland
Awesome write up about Kenny Holland and the reasons behind his continued success.

Red Wings hope combination of rest, hard practice will re-energize team that hasn’t skated well | MLive.com
It starts in practice. You work hard there then you’ll work hard during the game. Hope the Wings come out flying tonight and get Jimmy his first win since returning.

The Left Wing Lock” Blog Archive ” Crease Crunch: Wings Must Shore up Goaltending Depth in the Offseason
I think Petr Mrazek is the goalie of the future after Jimmy. I’ve personally lost some faith in Thomas McCollum, but let’s remember that there was a time where a lot of us didn’t think Jimmy was going to every make it as a starting goalie in the NHL. The Wings are all about patience with their kids, but we’ll see what happens with McCollum.

The Year of the Coach: Lengthy List of Candidates For Jack Adams Award (Part 1) | The Hockey Writers
You know what really grinds my gears? The fact that the Jack Adams is usually awarded to whatever coach takes a team from the bottom of the standings to the top. I’m sure this year’s candidates will be Bruce Boudreau, Paul MacLean, and Ken Hitchcock. Yes, they’ve all done great jobs with their current teams. Sometimes, though, it’s much harder to take a team with high expectations and get them to play at that level through 82 games. It really pisses me off that Mike Babcock doesn’t get more recognition for this award. He’s considered one of the best coaches in the game by many. If that’s true then let’s reward the man with some freaking hardware.

Talking with: Tomas Tatar | The Off Wing View
Red Wing prospect Tomas Tatar did an interview over at the Off Wing View. Check it out.

Smith hits up Twitter to help ‘little bro’ – Detroit Red Wings – News
Ken Holland needs to call the Stars and demand a trade for Reilly Smith.

Bertuzzi stymied at school visit – Detroit Red Wings – Community
The bad news: Bert missed in a shootout against some teachers. The good news: there was a 100% survival rate by the students and staff.

The ‘Stats Guys’ vs. Cinderella, or how Minnesota Wild regressed to the mean | Puck Daddy – Yahoo! Sports
A victory lap for the stats-analyzers who saw the Wild falling back down to Earth. Wilson perhaps jumps a little too fervently on his abacus by completely dismissing ANY concept of causality, but it’s an overall solid read.

KuklasKorner : KK Hockey : Video- Grade This Max Pacioretty Dive
Holy hell what a dive by Max Pacioretty. Part of me really, really wishes that Jack Edwards was calling this game and this play. He gets a perfect 10 from every judge, including the Russian.

KuklasKorner : KK Hockey : Video- Add Devin Setoguchi To The Bad Shootout Attempts
Anything Patrick Eaves can do, Devin Setoguchi can do much, much, much worse. My guess is he thought someone touched him so he did the best dive he could.

Wild vs Habs: Suspensions Coming? – Hockey Wilderness
Hahaha. It’s cute how the Wild fans still think Shanahan watches their games.

Erik Karlsson as a Norris Trophy favorite? Are you kidding? – On the Forecheck
Every fucking year we have to have this stupid argument where idiots talk about the leading scorer for the Norris despite him not being an “all-around” defenseman, which is kind of important because it’s in the description of the trophy.

Last Night’s Committed Indian Page 8 – What Really Went On At The Deadline – Second City Hockey
I can vouch for the Committed Indian being a good read. If you ever find yourself heading into the United Center for a Blackhawks game, pick yourself up a copy.

No Discipline For Eric Nystrom on Kris Letang Hit – Defending Big D
Shanahan ruled that the head was not the principal point of contact, which is required in the wording of Rule 48.

Kris Letang Has Concussion Symptoms; Eric Nystrom Won’t Be Suspended For Hit – SBNation.com
The bad news about Shanahan making the right call is that it doesn’t do anything about the bad news that Letang is suffering from concussion symptoms again. Remember, Letang was concussed earlier in the season (in a game where he was allowed to return, no less).

Let’s Go Red Wings.
