Coyotes 5, Red Wings 4 (OT): Inconsistent month continues with loss to one of NHL’s worst teams | MLive.com
Well at least we got a point. What a weird game…

Red Wings’ Darren Helm shares ‘remarkable’ story of how daughter was born in car on way to hospital | MLive.com
Amazing story.

One and done? Wings waiting to hear if prized frosh Larkin will go pro | ProHockeyTalk
To be a Wolverine or a Griffin, that is the question. I doubt that Dylan Larkin would have a chance to crack the Wings’ lineup next season, even as an injury call-up, and as a result, a big benefit of going to the Griffins is eliminated. Go back to UofM for one more season, and then make the jump to the Wings.

Red Wings backup goaltender Jonas Gustavsson back on the ice, hopes to return before end of season | MLive.com
Gustavsson is hoping to return to the Wings before the playoffs begin.

The Vancouver Canucks have extended defenseman Chris Tanev’s contract for the next five seasons. His new cap hit is reportedly $4.45 million.

Rangers’ Lundqvist back at practice, closer to game ready | USA Today
Henrik Lundqvist has not played since early February, and may make his return this weekend. The Rangers have been doing fine without him, thanks to Cam Talbot, but Lundqvist is still the best goaltender in the NHL, and having him back for the playoffs is huge for the Rangers.

Nick Leddy threatened by Twitter user, NHL security intervenes | Puck Daddy
Someone is not the biggest fan of Nick Leddy, to say the least.

What happened to the Maple Leafs’ top line? – Sportsnet.ca
I always had bigger expectations for James Van Riemsdyk after he was traded to the Leafs. Despite last year’s 60-point campaign, he is far from the star that he has the talent to become.

NHL Power Rankings: Sad times as playoff-regular Sharks won’t make it | CBSSports.com

Florida Panthers hoping to copy Lightning’s success | USA Today
The Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, despite playing merely a little over three hours from each hour, have had vastly different levels of success since joining the NHL in the early ’90’s. The Panthers have been able to make the playoffs only four times, while the Lightning won the Stanley Cup back in 2004. The Lightning’s relative on-ice success has allowed the team to develop a fairly strong fanbase while the Panthers cannot even fill half their arena. But, the on-ice product may beginning to change for the Panthers, with players like Jonathan Huberdeau, Aleksander Barkov, and Aaron Ekblad developing into stars.

Do not give Shea Weber the Norris this season | Puck Daddy
Assuming that Mark Giordano does not win the Norris Trophy, the only three candidates who I think have a chance are Shea Weber, P.K. Subban, and Kris Letang. I would give Subban another Norris, but I have a feeling that the voters will go with Weber instead.

30 Thoughts: Oilers could do worse than Nelson – Sportsnet.ca
Stan Bowman wants the NHL to use a March-Madness style tournament as a replacement for the All-Star game. Not an absurd idea, but I prefer the status quo over that.

If you have $5 million dollars to go around, have at it.
