Joe Veleno wrote his latest blog post for the Red Wings’ website. It’s his first entry since signing his contract with Detroit.

I’ve decided to spend my summer in Detroit in July and August after Development Camp, to work out there. I’m dedicating my summer to be ready for the year and I’m going to do whatever it takes to earn a spot next year in Detroit.

I love that he’s going to be staying in town to train. Veleno seems to have a great attitude about becoming a better “200-foot player” and trying to make the NHL roster. I said it the other day and I’ll say it again... kid is going to look good in a Red Wings sweater this fall.
