Additionally, forward Frans Nielsen has been assigned to the #RedWings taxi squad.

The rumor is that Dennis Cholowski will replace Evgeny Svechnikov, and the team will play 10 forwards and 8 defensemen.
(This is not really a rumor. Cholowski is going to replace Djoos in the lineup.)

If you didn’t see what led to this, it is pretty infuriating. Each team had at least one person enter COVID protocol Thursday morning and the morning skate was canceled. The game between Boston and Buffalo was played Thursday night. Then Friday, this was announced. Seems preventable.
