I’ve slowly worked my way up in this organization (since 1983) and I’ve lived the dream to be a Stanley Cup champion. I’ve been very, very lucky, and at the same time, I’ve been very good at what I do. Whatever happens, I’m OK with it. I really am at peace.”
I definitely had a bit of a hard time reading this one. I’ll admit that I’m someone that wants Ken Holland gone and not just “moved up to a higher role and not GM anymore gone,” but gone-gone. I don’t trust this organization to make the necessary, tough decisions as long as he’s still here. Holland mentions in the article that fixing the roster takes time and fans are frustrated about that. I can’t speak for every fan out there, but my frustration doesn’t come from how long a rebuild can/could take. My frustration comes from Holland being a bad GM these days and making poor decisions. As long as Holland is here, the Red Wings aren’t going anywhere.

Cougars, Winterhawks Strike Massive Trade Deadline Deal
“Dennis is a very special player and already carries himself like a pro,” said Head Coach Richard Matvichuk. “His attitude and commitment to his team and teammates is second to none and I can’t wait to see him in the NHL with Detroit.”
Cholowski was named the Cougars’ 23rd Captain in franchise history earlier this season, and was second in team scoring with 13 goals and 39 points in 37 games. He led the team in assists (26), plus / minus (+9) and power-play assists (15). The Langley, BC, product was sixth in scoring among WHL defencemen and second in goals and eighth in assists. Cholowski suited up for Team WHL at the CIBC Canada – Russia series in Moose Jaw and Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and was one of 32 invitees for Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Selection Camp in December.
A bit of more Wings news… 1st round pick Dennis Cholowski is on the move again. The defensemen was traded from the WHL’s Prince George Cougars to the Portland Winterhawks.
