2017-18 team-by-team NHL season outlook: Previewing the Detroit Red Wings – CBSSports.com
The Red Wings had a handful of positives from their final season at historic Joe Louis Arena, winning all nine shootouts they contested for and getting a third straight 20-goal campaign from rising winger Tomas Tatar. But the good was largely overshadowed by the bad — goalie Peter Mrazek slipped considerably in the net, general manager Ken Holland started auctioning off pieces at the end of February and the team saw its 25-year streak of postseason appearances come to an unceremonious halt.
So I know it’s surprising, but CBSSports is predicting us to be bad.

Terry Sawchuk’s son, grandson pay tribute with tattoo of mask – Sportsnet.ca
Since the above link was depressing, here’s another Red Wings link.
Terry Sawchuk was one of the most iconic goaltenders in NHL history and, as an early adopter of facial protection, his mask was part of the aura around him.
His son, Jerry, and grandson, Jon, have recognized that by getting matching tattoos on opposite sides of their backs featuring the No. 1 Sawchuk wore with the Detroit Red Wings and his famous fibreglass mask.
Sawchuk is one of the numbers that have been raised to the rafters for the Red Wings. And his mask is one of the greatest ones ever.
