The last time the Red Wings were invited to an outdoor game was 2017. That was at BMO Field in Toronto for the Centennial Classic against the Maple Leafs. It’s been a while, considering certain teams are seemingly playing an outdoor game every other year. The Wings will reportedly get another outdoor game in March of 2025, this time in Columbus, at the Horseshoe, also known as Ohio Stadium:
According to Aaron Portzline, this will be another “Stadium Series” spectacle. We all know the history between Michigan and Ohio at that venue. No doubt there’s plenty of “bad blood” between Michigan and Ohio State fans, but maybe not so much between the Wings and Blue Jackets. Regardless, if this comes to fruition, this will be a great event for both fanbases, and the NHL as a whole.
See you there?
