Sorry for the late thread, but I wanted to give the piece on Darren Helm written by Eight_Legged_Freaks a little longer to sit at the top of the page.
As I write this, Tampa Bay has just put goal #5 into the Penguins net. Tampa leads 5-0 in their bid to get back into this series where they’re down 3-1.
After this game ends, New York will try to do the same thing in Washington against a Capitals team that has fought hard. Washington is up 3 games to 1 and the Rangers are battling, but look overmatched.
Continuing the Saturday madness, Montreal and Boston take their series back to beantown looking to break a 2-2 tie in a series that’s seen the road team win each of the first four games.
Finally, to finish the night (if you’re still awake), Los Angeles goes back to San Jose trying to avoid a series collapse that started when the Kings went up 4-0 in game three and has continued to this point, where San Jose leads the series 3-1.
Being a fan who is rooting for every other series to go seven games, today isn’t hard to pick except Boston/Montreal. I really like Tim Thomas as a person – that’s reason enough for me to pull for the Bruins today.
