Trade bait, oo-ha-ha
The trade deadline is looming and it feels like every game could be someone’s last with their current team. We better not be scouting the Sabres, as we don’t need Justin Falk or former Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Zemgus Girgensons right now or ever.
If any scouts do show up to look at the Sabres, it’ll be for Evander Kane. I’ve heard the Sabres want the full package – first rounder, prospect, conditional pick and roster player – for him. If that happens then I want all the first round draft picks for the next decade in exchange for Tatar right now.
Mike Green is of course our prime trade bait, although rumors have also swirled around Tatar, Nyquist, LGD, AA, XO, and DeKeyser. Keep an eye out to see if any teams send scouts for us – that would probably double our average attendance numbers – and hope that they’ll take a Red Wing home with them and leave us a bag of draft picks.

Skate, skate, skate
We aren’t very good and the Sabres are terrible, and I’m always going to want the team to play well regardless of strategy. Yes I am a terrible at chess and I hate playing Risk, why do you ask? We need to show we are capable of playing an entire game without taking a nap – especially at the end of the third period when we are in the lead.
Blash always waffles on about trying hard and compete level and process blah blah blah, so maybe if we play an entire game with no negative dramatics we will be spared one of his speeches?
