WIIM Radio Podcast Recap: Red Wings 4, Avalanche 2

We tried something new, folks: we LIVE recapped the game via a podcast.

The Red Wings won 4-2 and handed the Avs their first loss of the season.

Topics we touched upon the following topics:

  • Niklas Kronwall is concussed. Dirty hit from Cody McLeod. Kronwall will likely miss at least a week or so. How many games should McLeod get?

  • Johan Franzen was back to being the Mule against the Avs. He has an estimated 94 career goals in 22 career regular and postseason games against Colorado. That continued tonight.

  • Jonas Gustavsson has strung together a few nice performances. The Red Wings might actually have a solid backup goaltender.

  • The new guys, Stephen Weiss and Daniel Alfredsson, have been pretty solid. Alfie especially was awesome with Tyler’s Eurotwins. Â Fox Sports Detroit called them the “Eurotrain.” Â READER CHALLENGE: come up with a better name. Winner gets a high five from me at the Winter Classic.

  • Helm could be back in a week. That’s cool./
