Keys to the Game:

Capitalize on Scoring Chances

Carey Price is the best goaltender in the NHL and he is playing like it. The Red Wings are not going to get a lot of good scoring chances on this Montreal team and the ones they get they are going to have to work their tails off to earn. They absolutely must bury those chances when they come up.

The Power Plays

Neither team has a stout penalty killing unit and are middle of the road on the power play. With both goalies playing at the top of their game, whomever can win the special teams battle is very likely going to win the game. Of note, look for Mantha to be down in front of Price on the power play.

Playing the Full 60

The Red Wings have looked like a really good hockey team at times this season. The problem continues to be though that they cannot seem to play at that level for an entire game. Mental lapses have been this team’s downfall so far this season and they need to find a way to avoid them here tonight against a very tough and opportunistic Montreal team.
