Griffins To Reveal New Franchise Look

WHAT: The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League will unveil a new look for the franchise in advance of their 20th anniversary season in 2015-16. Three hundred full season ticket members will be in attendance at this invitation-only event.
WHEN: Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.
WHERE: The Intermission Restaurant & Bar at Van Andel Arena (located in the front lobby, next to the banquet rooms). Media should park in the horseshoe lot/loading dock area behind the arena (via the east drive adjacent to the Bank of Holland) and enter the building through either the SE media/security entrance or the Intermission's entrance off the arena plaza on Fulton Street.
WHO: Griffins president Tim Gortsema, vice president of community relations and broadcasting Bob Kaser, captain Jeff Hoggan and several alumni will participate in the event and be available for interviews.
STREAMING: The event will be streamed live at as well as on the Griffins' iPhone and Android app.

We speculated a couple weeks ago that the Griffins may start using one of their alternate logos as a new primary logo. Someone spotted the Griffins Wednesday jersey alternate logo (below) on a web site as their primary logo.

The Griffins will be revealing a new look for their 20th anniversary and I'm sure that will include more than a logo change, so check out their streaming presser on Tuesday and we'll post updates as they become available.
