Senators Blog: Silver Sevens
It’s only the 10th game of the season but the Wings are already getting ready to play their 4th set of back to backs, and their 6th set if you count the preseason. Caleb wrote the other day that the Wings schedule certainly isn’t making things easy on them, but with the home and home back to backs, at least this time they’ll be on equal ground with the Senators. The story line with the Wings continues to be their struggles to perform to their potential. The task for the Wings is to continue to improve on executing key details. Practice yesterday focused on the power play and a heavy emphasis on PP zone entry, an area of much needed improvement.
The Wings have struggled with a poor shot differential so far, allowing too many and not getting enough of their own. With Blashill’s high even style of play, we’re going to regularly allow more than we as Wings fans are used to, but not as many as we’ve been allowing. The Senators allow the most shots per game in the league with 33.3 while taking the 19th most per game with 29.3. With a league least 24.3 shots for per game, I’d like to see the Wings increase that number against the Sens and keep firing everything at them.
We need to beat the dirty Sens and not get any more players injured by head shots or dirty hits.
