Morning Skate: Flyers at Red Wings – Preview, How to Watch

Time: 7:30 Eastern
Place: Little Caesar’s Arena, Detroit, MI
TV: NBC Sports (curses…)
Radio: 97.1 FM The Ticket  //  1270 AM
Flyers Blog: Broad Street Hockey

The Red Wings play host to the Philadelphia Flyers tonight on NBC Sports Network, so get ready for a biopic on whoever is deemed the human-interest story for this one. In better news, Athanasiou is making his return tonight! In worse news, Zadina is out for a few weeks. In also worse news, the Red Wings haven’t beaten the Flyers in nearly two years. In slightly-better-but-still-depressing news, at least the game is in Detroit, so Detroit at least has a chance (the Wings haven’t beaten the Flyers in Philly since ‘97, but I’m sure the NBC crew will fill you in on that one tonight.)

If you are afraid to watch this game the day after the Superbowl, just remember that not all games last twenty million hours because of ads, so the misery will probably only last 2.5 hours, and hey, maybe we will get a happy surprise! Every year pretty much every team destroys somebody 6-0 at least once. Tonight could be that night!
