Kings blog: Jewels From the Crown
Detroit is back in action at home as they try for a better result than Saturday night’s game against the Islanders. The Kings should be a good opponent for Detroit to be able to get back to their winning ways, but Detroit should not overlook any team. Right now, Los Angeles is second to last in the Western Conference with 23 points and a -24 goal differential.
How has Los Angeles Looked Lately?
Probably not a surprise if you read the above paragraph, but the Kings have not had a good season so far. The team is 4-6-0 in their last 10 games, although they did put up 5 goals on the Vegas Golden Knights in a 5-1 victory their last time out.
Anze Kopitar leads the King with 18 points. Four Red Wings have at least 18 points (Larkin, Nyquist, Athansiou, Nielsen).
Bottom Line
This should be a very winnable game, although Detroit has certainly lost their fair share of winnable games this season.
Regardless, a good 60 minute effort should be enough to beat this year’s Los Angeles team.
