Quick Hits: 3/1

Beware the Ides of March – My personal post about how frustrating the month of March already is to hockey fans who don’t really care about “March Madness”.  Already shoddy coverage by ESPN and the rest of TV for that matter, will be even worse this year, given Detroit’s current situation.

A Call to H2H/TPL Action– Michael Petrella of the The Production Line blog decides to make the next few games a little more interesting in a charitable way.  The 12 games leading up to the already special “Herm to Hockeytown” event will be even more special thanks to Mr. Petrella and a few charitable comrades.

Final Tally– New Red Wings blogger Wings Win, Eh? puts boasting aside (Rob is a Canadian) and looks at the individual stats for the Red Wing Olympians…yes even OKT and Grand Rapids’ Kolosov. If you don’t know who OKT is by now, you need to get with the program.

Red Wings vs. Avalanche GP – The always insightful Kris at Snipe Snipe, Dangle Dangle has a few questions that she would like have answered about the Red Wings returning from the Olympic Break.  They’re valid questions, even if asked by someone who had forgotten that Detroit even plays tonight until half-way through last night’s Gold Medal game.

Final Thoughts from Vancouver – Who better to give us their perspective on the Vancouver Olympic Games than Chris Hollis who lives in (fairly) nearby Seattle?  Despite a sad picture to go with the story and a charming little rundown of the Seattle sports scene, Chris provides both insight, humor, and passion towards USA hockey and the Gold Medal Game that will go down as one of the all-time greats.
