Lightning 4, Red Wings 3 (SO): Detroit battles back from two-goal deficit to earn one point | MLive.com
These shootouts just keep on hurting us! At least we got a point.

Red Wings mulling sending Tomas Jurco to Grand Rapids | Detroit Free Press
I would rather have Jurco in the lineup than Nestrasil or Dan Cleary, but, if the Wings are going to scratch him, I would rather have him playing with the Griffins than sitting in the press box with the Wings.

If Wings in another Winter Classic, Yzerman in for Alumni game | FOX Sports
Yes! The real question is, would he play if he was the Wings’ GM at the time?

Red Wings’ Stephen Weiss takes positive step in practice; Jonas Gustavsson trying to stay positive | MLive.com
I just want Weiss to be healthy at this point. Whether its with the Griffins or the Red Wings, he needs playing time.

No salary cap increase for NHL next season? | Puck Daddy
Considering that the Canadian dollar’s value has been declining when compared to the U.S. dollar, this is not a major surprise. But, this could make for an interesting offseason in 2015. A few teams (Chicago, for instance) will have to move players just to stay cap compliant, and many others will not be able to re-sign their own players or sign UFA’s. For those who have cap space, like the Wings, this will allow for some free agent and trade options.

The Connor McDavid-Jack Eichel sweepstakes | USA Today
The Sabres and Hurricanes are my top picks to finish in the bottom of the league this season. The Blue Jackets, Stars, and Avalanche are all too good teams to maintain their current poor form. They may end up missing the playoffs, but, they will not finish low enough to draft McDavid or Eichel.

Another #5 is up in the rafters.

Tyler Seguin notches hat trick against San Jose Sharks – SBNation.com
Safe to say that Jim Nill won his trade with Boston.
