NHL Rumors: Detroit Red Wings and Vancouver Canucks
The Red Wings defensive depth will force Robert Hagg out of Detroit, while the Vancouver Canucks are looking a third-line center.

The stuff up front about Robert Hagg being out of Detroit’s future plans is a big nothing-burger, but it’s ok information to have I guess.  What interested me was the idea of Pius Suter as a desired Free Agent center.  Don’t get me wrong, I like Suter and what he’s done here, but he’s also underwhelmed vs expectations to a degree (whether expectations were reasonable is up for debate).  I don’t want to lose him, but also don’t want the Wings to overpay to retain him just because other teams are sniffing around.

Also, that he’s being linked to Vancouver (or that anyone would be linked to Vancouver) makes me laugh given their cap situation.  We’ll have more on that tomorrow.

Snoop Dogg Ups NHL Ownership Bid By Teasing Death Row & Ottawa Senators Collab
Snoop Dogg has teased a potential NHL collaboration with Death Row Records, sporting a custom-made pair of sweatpants embroidered with the Ottawa Senators logo.

Snoop is apparently still in on the Senators bid.  A collaboration with Death Row Records and the Ottawa Senators?  That’s so far out in space that I actually want to see it.

On a serious note, I think Snoop would be a fantastic owner.  Whatever you think about rap, dispensaries, or wine, the guy has found success in a lot of different places.  He knows how to market a product around personas, keep a business successful, and collaborate with or bring in industry experts when needed.  I think hockey could use a business-person with personality, and Snoop D-O-Double G has that in spades.  Shake up the Old White Guy club, get this man a franchise.

CBS News Miami’s Samantha Rivera: ‘I had a bad feeling,’ before confrontation with rowdy Golden Knights fan
The Florida Panthers may be tough on the ice but sports reporter Samantha Rivera is even tougher.

Apparently reporting on hockey can be a full-contact sport too.  Get out of her frame, she’s here to work!  Nice moves, Ms. Rivera!
