Ken Holland isn’t going anywhere; signs extension with Red Wings | MLive
Although the announcement of Steve Yzerman being named the new Red Wings GM grabbed the spotlight Friday, team owner Chris Ilitch also said Holland had signed a multi-year extension as the team’s senior vice-president. The length was not disclosed.
Ken Holland isn’t going anywhere... for now.
I still think he’ll get bitten by the GM bug and take the Seattle job. He’s said all the right things and put on a good face during this whole ordeal with Steve Yzerman, but at the end of the day I think Holland is going to want to run a team again.
If he does stick around with the Red Wings, that’s great too. We may have disagreed with a lot of Holland’s moves the last few seasons, but there’s no arguing he's done a lot of great things for this franchise over his career. If Yzerman wants him around, then I won’t argue with that.
