Best wishes for a speedy recovery for ASP. Of interest: Ansar calls him our “top prospect”, and normally I’d make a big point that he could mean ASP is simply one of our top prospects but the idea that he legit could be our top prospect is interesting. After his performance at the World Juniors and his absolutely ridiculous start to his D+1 season, who would you place ahead of him? Danielson? Augustine? Edvinsson or Johansson? Cossa? Any of Mazur, Hanas, or Lombardi?

On Jan. 9, we’re now less than two months to the NHL’s trade deadline, which this year lands on March 8. We’re also nearing the halfway mark of the NHL season, far enough along for teams to be getting an idea for how they might act in the market — buyer, seller, something in between?

There sure are a lot of Flyers on this list considering they’re currently the 3-seed in the Metro. I’m not saying Philly couldn’t gain a hell of a lot by shuffling some pieces, but when you’re already playing this well why plan to sell? Make a short deal or two and if team play falls off this season or next, then host your fire sale.
