Edmonton Oilers defenseman Mike Green retires at age 34 – Canadian Sports Scene

In 2008-09, Green made hockey history. He set the NHL record for the longest consecutive goal scoring streak by a defenseman. At eight games, he broke the record previously set by Mike O’Connell, who scored in seven straight games for the Boston Bruins in 1983-84.

After all the health problems, it’s unfortunate to see Green’s career end, but he was cooked. I always felt kinda bad that I didn’t appreciate him enough when he was dominant. Who cares if he was a glorified forward for Washington? He was fun to watch.

Around the NHL

To be perfectly honest, this all feels like the Devils are just happy to have their brand tacked on to what the 76ers are doing because they’re owned by the same company.

Wanna see Jordan Martinook’s nostrils? You bet you do!

Hey all that nostril-prodding is doing some good, it seems.
