Red Wings Rumblings

Welcome back, gang! Hope you had a good weekend. While the Wings are hoping to slip into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, their prospects are already making waves in postseason play.

Axel Sandin Pellikka continues to impress at a young age:

Nate Danielson is lighting it up with Portland:

Shai Buium adds another Natty to his resume:

Husso setback

Ville Husso probably won’t be playing again anytime soon, especially with two games left in the regular season. He sufferend an apparent setback during warmups of a game over the weekend. Not good news.

Meanwhile, something encouraging in Red Wings goalie world:

NHL News

I guess we gotta continute to talk about the Arizona Coyotes and the impending move to Salt Lake City, huh? ESPN reports that players were informed Friday that the team is relocating and will play in Utah starting next season. So, how’s it gonna work? Sounds as if the NHL will buy the franchise for $1 billion and sell the team to Utah and owner Ryan Smith for some $1.2 billion.

Now, back to Arizona — the NHL is reportedly going to give Alex Meruelo (current owner of Coyotes) a five-year window to get serious or, for lack of better terms, fuck off. The league is essentially giving Meruelo five years to secure land and build an arena.

Again, this entire story is a result of a complete lapse in leadership from the NHL. Bettman and his cronies let this permiate way too long. Do they really care, though? No. It’s all about money when it’s all said and done.
