Detroit Red Wings have tough calls to make in Kraken expansion draft
They face another expansion draft next June, when the newly named Seattle Kraken will pluck one player from each of 30 teams to build the NHL’s 32nd member, slated to begin play in 2021-22.

At the end of the day, it’s just too far out to really have an idea of what some of Detroit’s protection slots are going to look like.

My way too soon pick for who Detroit will lose is Evgeny Svechnikov. I would love to be wrong because he does a great job this coming season and forces the team to protect him.

Steve Sullivan will be named interim general manager of the Arizona Coyotes, per Sportsnet‘s Elliotte Friedman.

Well that’s interesting. I wonder what the team will say about….

Oh. Oh wow.

It’s going to be real interesting to see what more comes out of this.

According to multiple sources, Arizona Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo will ask NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman to adjudicate the ugly divorce between the organization and John Chayka, thereby determining the executive’s future.

“This is a contractual dispute,” one source said Sunday afternoon.
