Everything about this still makes me sick. I’m still struggling with giving in to my baser emotions about this, and I understand if you all are too. But what’s important for the team is that they move forward as best they can and forget about this entire weekend… at least until January…

This is obviously just a rumor at this point, but given what we know about center depth, defensive liabilities, and inconsistent goaltending… SOMETHING is bound to happen. I’d hate to see Berggren go, but he also couldn’t beat out this season’s new additions after 67 games played last season. I’m not suggesting something is imminent, but keep an ear to the ground for more rumblings…

I’m of two minds about this. On one hand, if an MRI showed an issue, then ok put him on LTIR and there shouldn’t be any argument. On the other hand… if the issue was so insignificant that a player was willing to play thru it and LTIR is only being used as an alternative to waiving, that feels like pretty clear circumvention. The trouble with that second thought, however, is that guys like Matthew Tkachuk play thru broken ribs (or whatever it was in last year’s Cup Finals). If my second thought is valid, where is the line drawn between acceptable and unacceptable?
