Mrazek was bad last season. Really bad. But previously he was good. Really really good. Jared Clinton of THN talks about we shouldn’t doubt Mrazek’s ability to bounceback this season. My take? Mrazek is one of the most talented goalies in the NHL, he just needs to commit to working on his deficiencies. If he can get his head back in the game, the Wings will benefit in a big way. If not? Well, we’ll see how that situation gets handled this year

Bonus article time (and shameless self plug). I compared Nyquist and Tatar to see if they had “redundant” playing styles and then compared their body of work to the rest of the forwards in the NHL. Spoiler alert – both have rank among the top-30% of forwards in just about every metric over the past three years. The Wings are lucky to have both and should not rush to deal either one.

Dumoulin, Penguins agree to six-year contract
Defenseman Brian Dumoulin agreed to terms on a six-year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday. The contract runs through the 2022-23 season and has an average annual value of $4.1 million. Dumoulin is an interesting defenseman to evaluate, having only two full seasons under his belt. However, Dumoulin has performed at the level of a 2nd pairing defenseman and with Pittsburgh likely to hand him a bigger role next year, this deal has the potential to be a steal if Dumoulin continues to improve
