Danish defenseman Malte Setkov stood above all at development camp
Hakan Andersson believes in the big Scooby-Doo kid the Wings drafted*, so now I do too. Setkov lives in Denmark but travels to Sweden where he plays and trains (and it’s also only like an hour away so it’s not that big a deal). You still get the feeling it’s a decent-sized gamble here, but that’s pretty much what you get with a 100th-overall pick anyway.
*(get it? Because he’s large and from Denmark, making him a great Dane? ahahahha no you shut up)

WRAL report: “Business deal” in place for sale of Carolina Hurricanes to Chuck Greenberg – Canes Country
Looks like the deal for Detroit native Peter Karmanos to sell the Carolina Hurricanes is moving quickly. The club made famous for offer-sheeting Sergei Fedorov (and I guess once winning a Stanley Cup too) would transfer ownership upon finalization of the deal and approval of the NHL Board of Governors. All the reporting I’ve seen so far indicates that the deal will come with the franchise version of a no-movement clause for the time being.
