It’s game day for the Grand Rapids Griffins as their series with the Milwaukee Admirals in the Central Conference Finals swings to downtown GR for the next two games. The Griffins could close out this best-of-five series at home if they can manage a win tonight and Friday night.

McDonagh back with the Lightning
Tampa struck a deal with Nashville yesterday — acquiring veteran defenseman Ryan McDonagh and a draft pick in exchange for two draft picks, including a second-round pick in 2025. Obviously a big addition for Tampa – you’ll recall McDonagh won a Cup with them previously. The big story here is Tampa’s cap situation. They have limited space to sign several players — meaning trades could be on the horizon.
Berube joins Toronto as head coach
Craig Berube promises “accountability” as the next bench boss in Toronto. Again, I’m not totally convinced that coaching is/was the problem there. We’ll see.
Meanwhile, the Stanley Cup Playoffs continues tonight with game one of the Eastern Conference Finals between Florida and New York. Really looking forward to this matchup.
