Even though he remains unsigned, I remain confident that Joe Veleno will be on the team for the coming season (unless we get to camp and the situation still hasn’t resolved). That said, this piece feels pretty accurate. The roster got a lot more crowded this offseason – not that that’s a bad thing. As we’ve mentioned before, Yzerman is clearly raising the bar for young players like Mazur, Berggren, Soderblom, Edvinsson, and even Veleno. It’s up to them to show they can clear it over the next few months.
