Red Wings Rumblings
Victory Monday.
The Red Wings are in a playoff spot today after yesterday’s 3-1 win over Buffalo. Washington, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia are all trailing the Wings by a point in the standings. None of them have a game in hand over Detroit. The biggest game of the season will happen again tomorrow as Detroit and Washington have a date set at LCA — just FYI, this game will be an ESPN-only broadcast.

Several NHL stars are on the brink of major milestones. That group is led by Auston Matthews, who is looking to eclipse the 70-goal mark. He currently sits at 64 goals, one short of Alex Ovechkin’s career-high of 65. If/when Matthews makes it to 65, he will be the top single-season goal-scorer of the 21st century.
