More of the ‘Kid Line’ Please
The Bertuzzi-Athanasiou-Mantha line was incredible on Thursday night against the New York Rangers. And, I can’t wait to see them hit the ice again tonight (here’s a reminder of their chemistry below) and see what they have in store against Tampa.
The more that Jeff Blashill sticks with this trio in Larkin’s absence, the better. It’s about time that AA got his due considering he’s been shuffled up and down the lineup in several roles the past couple of seasons. He’s a top six guy and he deserves to stay there (now, if we could only twist Blashill’s arm about Rasmussen’s chance).
Stay out of the Box
The Bolts are a highly explosive offense, leading the NHL with 3.78 GF/GP and if you give them extra chances, then you’ll only get burned — they lead the league with a 29.0 PP% too. The Wings haven’t exactly been successful at killing penalties this year either with a 77.8 PK% (26th in NHL). Using their legs and playing smart will keep the Wings competitive in this game without Larkin on the top line. If they waiver early and get caught flat-footed, then it could be a long night in Tampa.
