Red Wings vs. Penguins Preseason Gameday Updates

The Wings put their 1-2-1 preseason record on the line along with their undefeated-all-time-in-the-LCA streak against the visting Pittsburgh Penguins, who handed them that OTL in Pittsburgh with a 6-5 victory last Wednesday.

The Matchup: Detroit Red Wings vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

The Time: 7:30pm ET

The Location: Little Caesars Arena (Detroit, MI)

The Enemy: Pensburgh

The Broadcast: Fox Sports Detroit, Fox Sports Go (app)

The Penguins put their whole lineup on their site here. On it, you’ll see a decently veteran-heavy D-corps including Maatta, Ruhwedel, Trotman, Tinordi, Cole, and rumor piece Derek Pouliot.

For the forwards, the Pens are going… a little lighter:

I guess if you want to see Sidney Crosby, you can go to the White House.

Goalie-wise, we won’t be seeing Matt Murray at all.

The Red Wings

Fortunately, the Wings are stoked enough to start giving us their lineup and projected lines for gamedays now.

So we’ve got Rasmussen filling in for Zetterberg with the big-boy wingers to help him along and Frk still getting a long look to shine while Justin Abdelkader rehabs his groin making up three Red Wings lines all being backstopped by the logs trying to battle each other out of the jam beneath the regular-season starters.

Howard will be getting his 2nd straight game, as I’m guessing Mrazek will take two of the last three games, those being all on consecutive nights later in the week.

We’ll use this as a gamethread for tonight; if you’re tuning in, come hang out with us. LGRW!
