Welcome to a new WIIM Radio mailbag! We’ve got a big gap in Red Wings games and are going to fill it with 90 minutes (or less) of Wings chatter. We’ve got a good idea of the cast tonight, but I’m not making any promises just yet. Here’s the rundown:
The Red Wings heading into the bye week – Detroit has a mandated five days off before heading to Western Canada on that road trip. We know Brendan Smith will be heading to Florida to hang out with his brother Reilly, but will he be coming back to the Wings by the time it’s all over?
Of course we’re going to talk about trades – Just about anybody not named Mantha, Larkin, or Athanasiou is on the block and we’ve kicked this horse into dust, but there are still some chunks left to powderize on the trade front. With the Michael Stone trade earlier this week will the floodgates finally open?
Around the league – You might not have been paying attention as closely to the rest of the league because looking at the standings is sad lately, but we’ve got you covered. We’ll tell you who’s actually good and who is the Leafs.
Positivity Corner – We’ll take a break to make sure you all know we’re still capable of feeling love and warmth.
