WIIM Radio Mailbag: The Still Digging Edition

According to the maxim: “When you’re walking through hell, stop and start digging.” Wait, that’s not right.

Even with last night’s disastrous game against the Lightning, we here at WIIM will be back at it tonight for our weekly podcast. We’ve checked the freon levels and haven’t found any leaks in our cooling systems, so we should be ready to go tonight to talk Red Wings, the rest of the NHL, and your reader questions. Make sure to get yours in as soon as you can, so you don’t miss your chance.

As the Wing Burns – We had a really fun game, a game that didn’t happen, and one that we wish didn’t happen. Stealing a page from Gordie Howe, Nick Jensen invented his own hat-trick in his first NHL game. For future reference, a Nick Jensen hat trick is: 1. Injure the opposing goalie. 2. Injure your team’s goalie. 3. Score an assist.

Injuries and Returns – After Howard’s inability to put any weight on his leg last night, I think learning he still has a knee would be a relief. It looks like he will be out a long time. Other injured players are skating with the team.

Around the League – Columbus keeps winning, the Metro continues to dominate the rest of the league, and Carey Price is pulled. So basically down is up, left is right, cats and dogs are living together. Mass hysteria.

Positivity Corner – This is going to be a hard one this week, at least for the Red Wings side. Luckily we’ve had a lot of practice up to this point, so we’ll figure something out.

Reader Questions – You know the drill. You ask em, we answer.
