Game Day Updates: Red Wings vs. Predators

Credit: Brian Bradshaw Sevald-USA TODAY Sports

Hot off of a huge win over the New York Islanders, the Red Wings hit the road with their first stop in Nashville. The Predators have turned into one of the NHL’s best stories. They’re playing really good hockey as of late. In fact — the Preds have lost just four games dating back to the beginning of February. This is going to be a real test for the Wings, and every point is precious at this juncture of the regular season. What I’m saying is — Points won’t come easy tonight.

Jake Walman is out as he recovers from an injury. Derek Lalonde said that he hopes Walman will return next week at some point. The potential X-Factor, so to speak, will be Detroit’s goaltending. Alex Lyon will get the start today after James Reimer started the last two games.
