Carolina has been a bit of a nemesis for the Red Wings recently, especially in two games so far this season where they dominated play in both games, even if the Wings managed to steal a win in one of them. Detroit is now coming off a western Canada trip where they managed roughly 4 good periods across 3 games. That’s horrendous, but they somehow ended up with 3 points in those 3 games, so we just need to hope Detroit starts playing full games at some point. The results have been okay on the back of strong goaltending and timely goals, but the general flow of play needs to get much better quickly.

One big thing to watch out for here is the typical slow legs the first game back from a west coast road trip, which has resulted in more bad first periods than I care to remember. Detroit may need to weather an early storm (OR HURRICANE) to keep up.
