Wings had the day off yesterday after a Tuesday night shootout loss to Tampa in what was arguably one of the dumbest games of the season. It was awesome to see Frans get the hat trick and Goose honk the horn twice, but less awesome to also give up 5 goals.

Toronto is dangerous this season and score lots of goals. And our defense has been lovingly serving the puck to the other team a lot these last two games, so spoiler alert an important key to the game will be to stop doing that.

Health was fun while it lasted

Wings began the season with some losses to injury, then were ok for a while, then Helm did a Helm. Now Mantha did a Mantha and broke his hand fighting the Avs and DK took a shot to the hand and are both out 4-6 a week. Daley is also still out for another week or so.

Plus, Grituzzi will be finishing his suspension for bench shenanigans.

We’re running low on players and the Joe Hicketts Mafia is lurking. Wade Megan is back for now and we may call up a defenseman soon who is not Filip Hronek.

Meanwhile, in Tronna

Leafs are good Stanley Cup contenders blah blah blah WE KNOW. The important development for tonight is that William Nylander is slated to make his debut. He has been in contract purgatory but signed a 6-yr deal on Saturday.

Bottom Line: I hope you’ve been rationing your annoyance to last from the Bruins to the Avs to the Bolts to the Leafs.

LET’S GO RED WINGS!
