Open Thread Day 17: The First Round Heating Up
Five games today, three have a chance to put themselves one game from winning the series and there is one with a chance at a sweep. It has been a wild and unpredictable round of hockey so far and it is unlikely to stop now.
Here’s what’s on tap for today’s games. We’ll use this as an open thread for today’s games.
Tampa Bay Lightning (2) at Columbus Blue Jackets (7)
Scotiabank Arena, Toronto
Best of 7: Tampa leads 2-1
Time: 3:00 pm ET
TV: NBCSN, SN360, SN1, TVAS, SUN, FS-O
Team Sites: The Cannon, Raw Charge
Tampa has already won two more playoff games against Columbus than they did last year. They still look like they’re figuring out how to ramp up while Columbus remains just a tough team to play against.
Colorado Avalanche (2) at Arizona Coyotes (7)
Rogers Place, Edmonton
Best of 7: Colorado leads 2-1
Time: 5:30pmET
TV: NBCSN, TVAS, ALT, FS-A PLUS, FS-A, FX-CA
Team Sites: Mile High Hockey, Five for Howling
I don’t think the Coyotes are going to be able to rely on Darcy Kuemper playing like he did in game 3.
Boston Bruins (4) at Carolina Hurricanes (5)
Scotiabank Arena, Toronto
Best of 7: Boston Leads 2-1
Time: 8:00 pm ET
TV: , NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS, FS-CR, NESN
Team Sites: Canes Country, Stanley Cup of Chowder
Without Svechnikov, Carolina is gong to have to figure out new ways to score lacrosse goals. Hopefully Jack Edwards doesn’t embarrass everybody again.
St. Louis Blues (4) at Vancouver Canucks (5)
Rogers Place, Edmonton
Best of 7: Vancouver leads 2-1
Time: 10:30 pm ET
TV: , NBCSN, CBC, SN, FS-MW
Team Sites: St. Louis Game Time, Nucks Misconduct
I see the Blues remembered how to win a game.
