Whatever your opinion is regarding Hossa and his time here in Detroit, it speaks to how he was in the locker room that so many Wings alumni turned up for his Goodbye Game. It also gave us this golden moment:

Didn’t we just do this whole dance with Keith Petruzzelli? Despite a good year feeding teammates at Arizona State, Mastrosimone most likely would not have found himself in the lead of the Red Wings prospect rankings had he intended to stick around (and this may have contributed to his decision not to stay with the organization). This is certainly a choice he was free to make, and while I don’t actively wish him ill because of it, Wings Nation certainly owes him precisely zero well wishes now on the remainder of his career. Bye bye, Leafs guy…
