As a fan, I think this is dumb. There’s a palpable buzz to the entire event, even just watching on tv, that I’m not sure you’ll be able to recreate without all the team staff rubbing elbows. There’s an opportunity here to do something better, but there’s also a big opportunity to do something worse and basically turn this into Gary Bettman reading a group text conversation.
