So far, Friedman has confirmed that we Ken Holland dished up a 2nd round pick, Mattias Janmark and Mattias Backman for Cole and a conditional 3rd round pick, condition being that Dallas retains the pick if Detroit makes the Eastern Conference Finals. I like this trade. Two prospects who were in a logjam, playing in Sweden.. One recently sent back to the SHL because there was simply no room for them in the system.
Erik Cole has 33 points (18 goals, 15 assists) in 57 games this year, he's 36 years old and has a cap-hit of $4.5 million (no salary retained in this deal.) What do you think of this trade?
