Game Day Updates
#RedWings Blashill: Dennis had a little irritation today coming in. He was scheduled to play & then he wasn’t 100%. I don’t know if it’s a healthy scratch. Could he have played? Yes he could’ve played. Was he 100%? No. And we got other guys who are 100%, so I just went that way.

I feel a little irritation every day, Dennis. I got you.
With no skate I’m just going to guess that Cholowski is feeling happier and will be in. If (when) I’m proven wrong, we’ll let you know. [Update: the Wings tweeted out an anticipated lineup that’s the same as last night’s, so Bowey in for Cholowski]
The Jackets also didn’t skate this morning because they’re all super excited about the hockey analytics conference they’re hosting this weekend (waves in the direction of Peter & Prashanth).

Keys to the Game
Keep up the structure
Going from the Sabres to the Jackets is going to be a bit of a step up in terms of overall team comportment. The Wings were able to limit their breakdowns (and still found a way to give up three goals). Have to be even tighter than that.
Don’t go on the power play
I know they score more than they allowed on Thursday but I’m not looking forward to Gustav Nyquist scoring shorthanded against us.
Score on a breakaway
Just once, please?
