As per Capfriendly.com, the two year deal has an AAV for $700k, which is the league minimum.
Reportedly, he’s being signed to compete with Jonathan Bernier for the backup position to Jimmy Howard.
The 27-year-old played 17 NHL games last year for Arizona and Philadelphia. He didn’t perform very well, putting up a -6.42 GSAA (Goals Saved Above Average).
At league-minimum, this looks like a very low-risk gamble on a goalie.
