Keys to the Game
- Don’t Panic. The Wings’ mistakes go from “oops I spilled a cup of water” to “oops I sunk the city of Atlantis” very, very quickly. It’s fine for Twitter to be like “oh my Gord here we go again” but if that’s what’s running through the players minds after coughing up two goals the game is already over.
- Be a hero. No, not any of the players, I’m talking to any Wings fan brave enough to attend the game. Start a LGRW chant, throw an octopus, cheer about anything remotely good. The team has shown they can’t motivate themselves effectively, and Wings fans travel extremely well, so make the most of it and bring some energy for our sad lads.
- Wash your hands. This is not an idiom, it’s just a general reminder. I’ll also add “drink water” so that you don’t wake up miserable tomorrow should you need a lot of liquid courage to get you to watch the game.
