I’m not a fan of that cap hit, but the term is right. Ghost-bear is a left-shot but is listed as playing either sidenin defense. At 5’11” and 180lbs, the 30-year-old is coming off a 41-point (13G, 28A) campaign split between Arizona and Carolina. He also put up 3A in 15 playoff games for the ‘Canes.
Gostisbehere is expected to fill a void left by moving Filip Hronek to Vancouver this past season. Playing either side, it will be interesting to see where he slots into the line-up (although I’m skeptical that our top pairing of Walman-Seider will be broken up). His TOI the past few seasons suggests he’ll be on the 3rd pair, maybe 2nd, and contribute on the powerplay and maybe the penalty kill as well.
