Xavier Ouellet returns from Grand Rapids for his usual temporary visit to Detroit, in response to Jakub Kindl's injury.

Xavier Ouellet is good, and I'll go ahead and sound like a broken record here: He deserves to be a full-timer on this team.. But I think we all know what's in store. I look forward to him playing strongly for the team during yet another visit. I believe Kindl will be put on STIR, which is a seven-day minimum. So Ouellet will spend his New Years in Detroit. Let's hope that Ken Holland's resolution is to get this kid a permanent spot here.

Detroit has had some messy games on defense as of late, you can expect Xavier Ouellet to come in and provide a bit more stability in that regard. Go get 'em, XO.
